The Bauhaus
Form Follows Function
The Bauhaus is known as one of the most influential schools and movements of the 20th century. It inspired most of what we know as modern art and it created a new, innovative way of teaching the arts. Walter Gropius founded the school in 1919 in Weimar, Germany. Some of the most influential designers and artists studied and even taught at the Bauhaus, some being Josef Albers, Paul Kandinsky, and Herbert Bayer.
